Years of Experience
Our Story: Built on Grit, Pickup Trucks & a Passion for Fences
Back in 1999, AKA The Fence Company was born from humble beginnings—just a few determined guys, a couple of pickup trucks, and a big dream in a small garage. What started as a simple idea quickly turned into something greater.
By 2004, co-founders Matthew Koch and Thomas Auchenbach officially incorporated AKA and broke into the commercial fencing scene. As their families grew, so did the business. Just four years later, AKA moved into a much larger home base: a 4-acre facility right here in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
Today, AKA is made up of a dedicated crew of skilled fence installers, a few spirited office pros, and two founders who still love getting their boots dirty. Matt and Tom have been building fences since their teenage years—collectively stacking up over 50 years of hands-on fencing experience. They’ve proudly completed thousands of residential and commercial fencing projects throughout Berks County and the surrounding areas.
